Overview
The Levi Worship Academy is designed for anyone seeking to grow in worship — not just experienced musicians or those already on team. One of the primary focuses of the Academy is to develop musical and vocal competence, while also grounding participants in biblical foundations, spiritual formation, and a heart to serve God with excellence in worship spaces.
How the Academy Works
Our courses are modular and pathway-based, enabling participants to progress through clearly defined levels at their own pace. Training combines biblical foundations of worship, practical, creative and musical skills, and intentional personal formation, ensuring learning is both meaningful and applicable. All sessions are delivered in person, fostering community, collaboration, and hands-on growth.
Sessions are led by skilled tutors with many years of experience across worship ministry, the creative arts, and the wider music and production industries. Our tutors bring a rich cultural diversity and a wide range of specialist expertise, offering students depth, perspective, and excellence in every area of learning.
While many modules directly support worship and production ministry within CLM, the Academy also warmly welcomes individuals who are not seeking to serve on a team but are passionate about growing creatively and spiritually.
The Levi Worship Academy exists to nurture confident, capable, and humble Creatives — people who pursue excellence, value growth, and cultivate a deep love for the presence of God.
We have crafted Training Modules for Keyboards, Singers, Guitar, Bass, Drums & Worship Leaders. We are also planning to include pathways for Sound Engineers and Media Operators in due course.
Please see below for the Training Module dates for 2026. Sign-up for a number of these is now open via the links below.

Training Modules
-
DEEPER — Worship Foundations is an integral part of the Levi Worship Academy’s modular learning programme and forms the spiritual and theological backbone of all Academy pathways. As such, all applicants to the Academy are required to attend the in-person DEEPER session and to fully engage with and complete the DEEPER module assignments.
By registering for the Singers module or any of the musical instrument modules, you are automatically enrolled in the DEEPER — Worship Foundations module. This ensures that all participants are grounded in a shared biblical understanding of worship, spiritual formation, and ministry posture, providing a unified foundation from which all practical training and development flows.
Dates for the DEEPER sessions can be found on the Levi Worship Academy webpage, within the description of your chosen module, and in the confirmation email you will receive upon sign-up.

The Keyboard Module equips students to become expressive, confident, and spiritually sensitive keyboardists able to support a worship environment with musical depth and awareness. Beginning with layout, technique, simple triads, and basic progressions, students gradually develop skills in inversions, harmonising melodies, accompaniment patterns, and playing comfortably with tracks and stems. As they progress, learners explore extended chords, stylistic approaches across worship genres, improvisation, sound selection, and the creative use of pads and textures that shape atmosphere. The highest level includes leadership elements such as sound programming, re-harmonisation, transitions, and supporting vocalists with sensitivity and skill. Practical assessments at each level help build confidence and prepare students for real-world worship settings, encouraging creativity, excellence, and a heart tuned toward God’s presence.

Learners are trained in lead and backing vocal roles, mic technique, staying in key, and singing confidently with tracks. Advanced levels include spontaneous worship, vocal arranging, team dynamics, transition cues, and working closely with the worship leader, MD, and band. Each level concludes with a practical assessment designed to build confidence and prepare vocalists to lead and support worship with excellence, humility, and deep spiritual sensitivity.

Across four progressive levels, learners develop a strong technical foundation, from instrument setup and core rhythms to creating supportive, intentional bass lines that anchor a worship team. Students explore how to lock in with the drummer, understand keys and chord structures, and carry the weight of groove and feel within a worship moment. As they grow, students develop fretboard fluency, tone shaping, stylistic versatility, and the ability to support spontaneous worship confidently. The module emphasises the unique leadership role of a bassist -guiding dynamics, shaping transitions, and helping create stability within the band. As they progress, they explore dynamic shaping, ghost-note patterns, genre-specific styles, and the prayerful awareness needed to support spontaneous worship moments. Learners deepen ensemble sensitivity by locking in with bassists, working effectively with loops and pads, and shaping transitions that guide the flow of a worship set. Throughout the pathway, students grow in humility, discipline, and the spiritual attentiveness required to carry the ‘heartbeat’ of the room.
