Two Simple Ways To Give
Please see below, our two simple ways to give online. Further down this page is a short video to guide you through the process. You might find this useful if this is new for you. Thank you so much for your giving.
You can set up a bank transfer, or regular gift by standing order through your bank’s website or mobile app using the account information below:
Please email giving@clmchurch.co.uk to request our bank account details
For Regular Giving (‘Tithes and Offerings’), please reference your gift: Surname.Initial/GA_Number (e.g. BLOGG.S/245)
If you are redeeming a Vision Offering Pledge, please reference your gift: VO25 | Surname | CLM Gift Aid Number (e.g. VO25BLOGGS123)
If you make a bank transfer, or set up a standing order, it would help us further if you would be willing to let the finance office know your name, the reference you use and what the gift is for by emailing giving@clmchurch.co.uk.
To give online, using a bank card simply click here and follow the onscreen instructions.
From here you can set up regular or one off giving to the church.
If you are a UK taxpayer, please ensure that you tick the Gift Aid box.
Gift Aid
If you are a UK taxpayer, you can register for Gift Aid, boosting your donation by 25p of Gift Aid for every £1 you donate.
Gift Aid allows us to reclaim basic tax paid on donations made by UK taxpayers. This means that if you give £200 and make a Gift Aid Declaration, your overall contribution will now be worth £250.
Whichever way you choose to give, we’ll provide you with an opportunity to claim Gift Aid.
If you choose to give via the App or Online, we’ll prompt you to register for Gift Aid whilst you give (please use the same email address - the system will then recognise you and your previous settings..
If you’re giving via Bank Transfer or an an envelope during a Sunday Service, you will need to complete the online Gift Aid declaration form below. Once we have received your Gift Aid declaration, our finance team will issue you with a Gift Aid Number. Please reference this Gift Aid Number each time you make a donation via Bank Transfer, or when you give on a Sunday using one of our Giving Envelopes. Our system will also recognise your donation and automatically claim gift aid if you tick the box allowing ‘gift aid future donations’.
Higher Rate or Additional Rate Taxpayers
If you have a taxable income of more than £50,270 (tax year 2025/26), you may be paying tax at 40% (higher rate) or even 45% (the additional rate) on any income over these thresholds.
Although CLM can only reclaim tax at the basic rate (20%), you personally can reclaim additional gift aid relief directly from HMRC, reducing the total amount of tax you have to pay. This personal relief is worth 25p (or 31.25p) for every £1 a higher (or additional) rate taxpayer gives. For example, if as a higher rate taxpayer you give £100 to CLM, CLM can reclaim £25 (the 20%) and you, the the donor, can reclaim £25 (the additional 20%). So a gift worth £125 (to CLM) effectively costs you the donor £75!
What do I need to do?
If you don’t ordinarily complete a tax return (most employees are taxed purely through their employers payroll system) you can claim the additional personal relief by contacting or phoning HMRC. For a larger claim, HMRC may require written details of the donations. CLM is able to provide a summary of your donations in any given tax year upon request (which you should add to any other gift aid charitable giving you have made in the year), or you can access the information through MyChurchSuite.
HMRC requires a paper or online tax return for those who are:
self-employed, company directors or in a business partnership
letting out property
receiving significant investments or savings income
repaying the High Income Child Benefit Charge (see Stewardship - Giving - it can cost less than you think)
In the ‘charitable giving’ section of your self assessment tax return (you can select this option at the start of your return), you will find a box headed ‘Gift Aid payments made in the tax year’, in which you should include donations (the cash value) made to CLM and any other eligible church or charity. The return will then automatically calculate whether any relief is due.
If you are a regular giver (as many are at CLM), you can ask HMRC to change your tax code to take account of your higher or additional rate relief, so that you pay less tax through your payslip during the year rather than reclaiming a lump sum at the end.
Manage Your Giving
You can now log in and manage your own giving online via My ChurchSuite. This gives you access to giving history, export giving statements, update recurring giving and amend your Gift Aid declaration.
If you require access to ‘My ChurchSuite’, please drop us an e-mail to: info@clmchurch.co.uk
Guide to Giving Online
We are so grateful for the many hundreds of people, who in being part of CLM, give financially. CLM’s work - its ministries and mission - is funded by the generous and faithful giving of the congregation.
At CLM we believe God Himself is the most extravagant Giver of all. For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son… (John 3:16). We also believe that stewardship and generosity with wealth are major subjects in the Bible and specifically:
We are all encouraged to be generous in giving to the work of God (see esp. 2 Cor 8:1-7 and 9:6-12)
First things belong to God and we should tithe (give 10%) as a starting point (see esp. Mal 3:6-12)
God will judge us on our relative generosity, not the actual amount given (see esp. Luke 21:1-4 and Matt 25:14-30)
To hear some teaching from CLM around the subject of giving, we invite you to listen to two messages from Ps. Martin from March 2020 – ‘The Cup and the Bucket’ and ‘The Principle of First Things’.
If you have any questions about giving, please email the dedicated Finance Team on giving@clmchurch.co.uk.
Thank you for your generosity.
