First Visit

You may be considering coming to CLM for the first time soon. If so, please be assured, you will not be the only person visiting (we have new people every week) and you will be extremely welcome.

Here are some commonly asked questions:

WHAT TIME ARE THE SERVICES?

9.15am, 11.30am & 6.00pm

IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE?

Yes. If it is your very first time, there will be space for you in our church car park. General parking is in the Techno Centre Car Park opposite the church. We will have a Car Park Team in yellow jackets/vests on hand to direct you into a space as you come near to the church building.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE SERVICE?

Services can vary, but typically there will be an initial time of praise and worship, followed by an offering, a few announcements and then a sermon (see podcasts section to sample the preaching).

Sometimes there may be communion, baptisms, baby dedications, or an interview as part of the service. We try to explain clearly what’s going on, especially for people who are new to a church environment.

WHAT ABOUT CHILDREN’S WORK?

Children’s work runs in both of our Morning Services (9.15am & 11.30am)

A couple of times a year we hold ‘all-age services’, where the children remain in the service throughout. However, on most Sundays the children begin in the service for the worship time and then leave after about 30 minutes for their specially designed children’s church, which lasts for about an hour. This will be clearly announced in the service by the Meeting Leader.

We have a Parent & Baby Room available for those with little ones under the Age of 2. This is located on the first floor. The service is relayed live into this room.

For those aged 2-4, we have ‘Little Treasures’ and for those in School Reception to Year 6, we have ‘Treasure Kids’. The programmes are tailored to be age appropriate, with engaging and teaching from the Bible. Parents drop their children off at Little/Treasure Kids and collect them at the end of the service.

If you have a child from Age 2 to School Year 6, please ensure that you register in the foyer upon arrival at church. Child check-in begins about 30 minutes before the service starts and remains open until 25 minutes after the beginning of each of our morning services (9.40am/11.55am).

Also, twice a month (usually on the second and fourth Sundays) we run ‘Sunday Sessions’ in our morning services for young people in school years 7-11. The young people head out at the same time as the children for their own interactive gathering to help them build friendships and grow in the faith.

We don’t run specific children’s or youth work at The Six (our 6:00pm service).

DO I HAVE TO BE A CHRISTIAN?

No. Many people come to CLM to explore faith and they are extremely welcome.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

Absolutely not, wear what you like! Some people will be super smart and some super casual. Come as you are most comfortable.

CAN I GET A DRINK?

Of course. We serve free refreshments after all our services and our café bar ‘Café Life’ is open after the morning services if you want to buy a snack, hot chocolate or speciality coffee.

SHOULD I LET SOMEONE KNOW I’M COMING?

There is no need. But if you want to, or have any specific questions, you can email us ahead of your visit by clicking here.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?

After our services, we would love you to call in at our special ‘Connect Point’ so our Connect Team has the opportunity to meet you personally and serve you some refreshments. Just pop over and let us know it was your first time at CLM.
