Mick and Sandra Bonner's Leaving Service

After over 25 years of faithful service at CLM, Pastor Mick Bonner and his wife Sandra announced their retirement from service at CLM. On the 27th November 2011, the leadership and congregation of CLM said goodbye to this fantastic and godly couple.
Beginning the meeting with a triumphant entrance accompanied by a local trumpeter group, Mick and Sandra took the stage. From the offset, the congregation were grateful for the hard work of this amazing couple and the affect they have had in many people lives. It was clear however, that both of them gestured and reiterated that the glory goes to Jesus. This service enabled all to say thank you to this couple and but also to give God the glory for their service.
The meeting began with worship. Following this, their daughters Jeanette and Sharon hosted their version of 'This is your life'. The congregation were taken through the life of Mick and Sandra, accompanied by pictures. It was both humorous and heartfelt, but poignantly displayed the commitment they have both shown in their service to the King.
Tributes were then made by many of those who worked closely with Mick and Sandra and knew them well. Each of them talked of their love and care, but also of their humility and desire to see God honoured above all else.
John Partington was then invited to the stage. Pastor Mick passed on the baton to John Partington as the new Senior Minister of Christian Life Ministries. John then proceeded to pass a larger baton to Mick to remind him that his greater days are still ahead. The Elders and wives then prayed for this great couple before John Partington gave a final address.
Mick and Sandra will now go onto help their daughter Jeanette and son-in-law Dave, with the church in Nuneaton that they have planted as the leaders of Life Church. No doubt they will continue to make an imprint upon this church as they have done with Home Missions, the church in Shetland and CLM in Coventry.
