Department Leaders
Worship
John Legate
Having been born into the church, John has attended CLM all his life. A keen musician in his teens, John joined the worship team playing guitar. He then taught himself keyboard and is greatly accomplished in both. In his late teens John took over the responsibility for the worship team and he has been leading this now for over 20 years.
Ignite Youth
Dave and Leanne Bolton
Born and raised in Dorset, Dave came to our city as a student at Coventry University. He joined CLM and began in ministry by helping with the children's work. He then moved into youth and was asked to take over the leadership of the youth. Leanne, originally from West Bromwich, met Dave through Youth 180 (a Youth For Christ project) in Nuneaton. They went on to get married and Leanne came to live in Coventry with Dave, and became a member of CLM. They have both led the Ignite Youth ministry for many years, overseeing its restructuring and growth from the first night of 8 young people to now seeing a regular attendance of over 50.
Children's Work
Kim Legate
A lifetime resident of Coventry, Kim originally attended a church local to her home. It was here that she began her relationship with Christ. She then moved to CLM in her teens and was greatly involved in the life of the church. Recently Kim has taken over the leadership of Royal Rangers.
Gemma Sumner
Gemma moved to Coventry to study dance at Coventry University. She attended CLM and immediately felt at home here. After settling in, Gemma became involved in serving in the children's ministry at the church. Here she became involved in our Sunday morning children's work, Treasure Kids. Gemma has recently taken over the leadership of Treasure Kids.
Junc5 Students
Steve Gibbins
Born in the city and raised on the north side, Steve attended church from a young age where he was involved in music ministry and continues this at CLM. After 2 years in South Wales, he returned to Coventry and began attending CLM whilst a student at Coventry University. In 2010 Steve took over the leadership of the student work, using his experiences and challenges as a student to benefit those in attendance at CLM. He is passionate about seeing students mobilised to be affective for Christ on their campus.
Pastoral Care
Sue Rhodes
Sue Rhodes, wife of Barrie, worked as a secretary before training to teach in secondary education. Sue is now retired from full-time teaching but still does a small amount of RE teaching in a primary school. She, with Barrie, has recently taken on a guide dog puppy, which they will home for 12 months before it goes on to the specific advanced training.
Sue came to this church in 1974 and initially took on the role of Sunday School Teacher, before leading the Sunday School team at Stoke Aldermoor for several years. About 4 years ago, the Oversight recognised that there seemed to be a lot of people in church needing help in many ways, and the Pastoral Care Team was set up. This seemed a natural route for Sue to take and she greatly enjoys this work.
